Watch Aesthetics directly on YouTube (Spanish)An introduction to the topic
A painting, a song or a landscape can hold our attention. Aesthetics asks what happens in these experiences and how we discuss their value. What is the difference between saying we like something and arguing that it has qualities other people could recognise? Beauty, taste, experience and art are related, but the terms are not interchangeable. The suggested reading maps these differences and the debates that arise when we try to justify our judgements.
